Benefiting From Research

As a patient at the Cancer Center, you may be eligible to participate in clinical research trials through one of our many research programs. Clinical trials, also called cancer treatment or research studies, test new treatments in people with cancer. The goal of this research is to find better ways to treat cancer and help cancer patients. Clinical trials test many types of treatment such as new drugs, new approaches to surgery or radiation therapy, new combinations of treatments, or new methods such as gene therapy.

Critical questions about the effectiveness of new drugs are answered much more rapidly, while patients receive state-of-the-art treatment close to home. We also have clinical trials that involve all aspects of care including prevention, early detection, patient management and continuing care. These clinical trials are available to the patients in our main office, as well as those patients who travel to any of our satellite locations.

If you are eligible for any of the trials in our program, our doctors will discuss these with you along with other treatment options. Participation in clinical trials is voluntary and requires your informed consent.
